Pressing submit means you've gone through everything below and you're on board with it. immychat directly hires parents to answer chats and handle translation, entirely from your own living room — nothing here is a brokerage, an exchange, or dressed up as an investment.

Being of age, being honest

Applying requires being 18 or older, and everything you submit — your name, your contact info, your English level — has to hold up as accurate. If we catch something invented down the road, we'll withdraw whatever offer stood on it, no matter how far you'd already progressed.

What our published pay figures actually mean

Every grade band and average income figure quoted around this site comes from what our 65+ present-day parents were actually paid — a record of what happened, not a promise made to you. Your own number will hinge on your grade, the amount you put in, and how your conversations tend to go, meaning nobody is locked into any of these figures beforehand.

How we decide who joins

Roughly 5 out of every 6 applications get filtered out before review ends, and that comes down to pure numbers rather than anything about you personally. The real deciding factor is how you come across in a short live practice chat — a polished résumé doesn't move the needle. We reserve the right to reject an application, stop training midway, or close a role altogether, and we don't owe anyone a justification for it.

You work for yourself, and it never costs you

Everyone joining does so in the capacity of a self-employed contractor, not a salaried staff member — so there's no guaranteed paycheck or benefits package, and figuring out the taxes owed on what you earn falls under whatever rules apply where you live. Applying, going through training, and reaching your first paid shift never cost you a cent; anyone posing as a immychat representative and requesting money from you is running a scam.

What our role/pay/FAQ pages are not

The role, pay, and FAQ pages are here only to give you a plain-language picture of how things run day to day — none of that counts as a signed agreement or as financial guidance. Whatever specifically applies to your role gets spelled out in full, in writing, the moment a real offer lands in your inbox.
